My ship is in Hawaii!

so, i'm in hawaii right now. had thursday and friday off, went to waikiki (sp?) and pretty much just drank a WHOLE bunch. but i got monday and tuesday off (got to work the weekend...damnet) and i was thinking about renting a bike. any ideas/things i should know about?

This really only applies if you're stationed there, if not I guess I'm a bit late on this one.

I had my R6 out there for a year or so. If you've been out a bit you can tell the majority of roads are absolute crap so if you rent a bike for the sake of your health take it slow. The rides are absolutely beautiful so there's no sense in rushing through it anyway. H1 to 93 all the way to the end is a beautiful ride along with the roads through the Dole pineapple fields. My boat was undergoing some heavy maintenance so I didn't get out as much as I would have liked, but my advice to you is just get out. Even if you only have a few hours until dark it's worth it. I really wish I would have done much more in my short year there. My favorite times was driving to a random beach I've never been to with a book and watching the bikini's running by. I don't regret most of my drinking in my life, but I wasted a lot of time in Hawaii due to alcohol....says the current drunk guy
