Default "Runnin, Swimmin all day long! thats what makes a tadpole strong!"

Pushups, sit-ups, pull ups, run, swim and study for the ASVAB, thats all i do every day (inbetween work) I hold in my hands two options, to become a California Highway patrolmen, OR try out for Navy SEALs in BUD/s.

I dont know what todo? here is my thought process....

*CHP, BENEFITS: quick acadamy (6mo), great pay at the end, great benifits, and can buy all the R6's i want! buy a house etc...

    *Downside: none really.....

    but on the other hand....

*Navy Seals, the prestiege through the roof, awesome training and experience, let alone, the great benefits and the chance to serve my country on the highest level.

*Downside: none, except for my wife would kill me before any SEAL instructor or Iraqi ass hole would.

i really would like to serve my country, but i want todo it at the highest level, like IF i dont make it (not saying i would not, but as we all know only like 25% of all applicants make it through) if i dont make it, i dont wanna spend 4 years in the fleet at another carreer path, you know?

    ok im done....thanks for reading....

Who ever said SEAL's were the highest level? Don't be a SEAL groupie. This may come as a news flash but ummm....they don't do anything that's any different than any other branch. They go to Army Jump schools, Marine sniper schools, do the same SERE training as pilots do, the same demolition classes that engineer's take. My point is, is that once that level of training has been reached it's really all the same. Besides I was un aware that you could just walk down the recuiters office and say "hey send me to SEAL Team 3 please" My advice is this and has allways been this (as I have said this in other threads) If you think that might be your thing and that is really what you want to do. Then go infantry in the Marines or Army 1st, THEN if you decide you still like playing in the dirt you can take it to the next level.

On a side note, I think the reason behind the amazingly high attrition rate of people trying for SEAL's is because there is no middle ground in the Navy. You go from being an Electritions Mate or some damn thing to balls out insane grunt life with nothing to prepare you for it. And sure enough some 70% of people just don't have the intestinal fortatude for it.

Army Special Forces are top notch, IMO. If you enlist in the Marines, , or Army, , you might end up loving it and want to go to SFAS (Special Forces Assessment and Selection). They all pretty much do the same thing, expect SEAL's are born in the water, ie water expert.

If you still decide BUD/S then you have to execpt the fact that if you wash out you could end up on a boat.

Whatever you choose, CHP or Military. Thank you for choosing a career field where somebody else benefits off of your hard work. You'll become one of the 5% percent of people that decide to serve.

    * here's a shocker. Less than 1% percent of the American populous has ever served.
