So I am putting together my WOFT packet and I will have to take a fitness eval. It is important that I do as well as possible, and score very high. You guys have anything you found that prepared you well for the eval? I ask because I want to go in into this in the best shape possible.

when are you taking the PT eval?

Minus obviously working out I would recommend gettin a good night sleep and MAYBE eating a carb heavy dinner the night before, but I would possibly talkin to sandeld on weither or not that would benefit you in energy

I do not know yet. I am scheduling my AFAST first, and provided that goes well, then after that soon afterwards. I just want to be in as good of shape as is possible regardless I guess.

the AFAST didn't seem to tough, IMO. My packet was amost complete, minus the AFAST and the recommendations. I was hopin to go UH-60, but I've put that aside now that I'm deploying to Afghan.

    What you lookin at flyin?

After talking to Brian about it, probably the UH60 from performance, endurance, reliability, flyability, and combat airworthiness. My local recruiter was a Maint. guy on Kiowa's and he was telling me about how much of a eternal nightmare Apache's are, plus I have just heard really nothing good about them. Plus I have always loved the Blackhawk. Thing about it is this. If I am lucky enough to get selected, then I better work my ass off so I can get a choice, else it will be at the needs of the Army, which might be the case regardless of how hard I work.

I can have some pretty good reference letters but I am nervous because I know a letter from a Senior Chief Warrant would put me over the top, even though I am not military.

^ So you're doing the "Street to Seat" Program? I though you were already Military.

Are you lookin Guard or Active? I know here in the UT Guard you can pick what you fly, not sure if its same in other states or Active Duty.

What ya get on the AFAST?

Yep, that is what I am doing. Um I am looking active duty, hopefully in UH-60's and just maybe Medevac? But who knows, its all about the "needs of the army". I took the AFAST last friday and got a 125 on it. I have a ASVAB of 90, with a GT of 130. Now I am going to have to rush around some more because i just found out it looks like my Board is going to be on the 30th of this month.

Well tomorrow is the big day. I have to get up at 2:30 am to go and take my flight physical. That is, if they let me have the day off at work, and I am worried about that as well. I am stressing about what work is going to do if they find out I am looking at the Army, plus I am worried about my physical. UGH. I think I manufacture more stress then there actually is. What will be, will be I guess in the end.

Good luck, and if it is what you really want to do I wouldn't sweat the existing job. If they find out and want to play hardball you might be able to get away with some shit being it's military. How could they punish you for wanting to serve your country? It's not like you are taking a day off to interview at a competitor.
