For the most part, people that don't live near the coast have no idea what the CG does and in a lot of cases have no idea we even exist. I'm form northern Alabama and had no clue what they did before I joined. The news coverage during Katrina showed a little of what we do, but that was probably a once in a lifetime event. Advertising campaigns like that work for the other armed forces, where you already know what they do. CG ads should highlight the things you may not know we do...
