Thats pretty quick. I completely suck ass at running and my goal is a 12 minute 1.5 mile. Yesterday I did 1.25 miles in 10 minutes flat so I am on track to pass my PT test this coming week with no issues. I usually do a 5K in a little over 30 minutes or so.
awesome job.
I was on the treadmill yesterday and it calulates how fast of a mile you are doing based on how fast you are running.
I set it to a 4 minute mile and HOLY SHIT!
I am amazed that anyone on earth has ever done that.
A 6 minute mile one time is pretty impressive to me.
Best of luck to you

A 4 minute mile is like a dead sprint the whole time. Probably faster than I can sprint in a very short distance.

Last year I was cranking out the 1.5 mile in the high 12ish range, but that was before I started working out consistently. This year, of course, I can't run, so it'll be awhile before I can get some accurate times. I'd love to get into the 11s, though.
The key to running faster is using less energy per power stroke. That was the one thing I learned from track. I can run faster (and get less tired) than people running slower than me. If you're bouncing you're using too much energy and doing it wrong. You basically want your legs to move and your upper body to stay put. Relax your arms and control your breathing.
Anything under a 21:00 for 3 miles is good for me. Us silly Marines...
If it is 3 miles away I will drive there

I am about to run 1.5 miles at 5000 feet above sea level tomorrow morning. I just got here and this should be interesting because I am used to about 50 feet above sea level.
