Default who has dropped an engine in Columbus, OH

i need the pivot shaft wrench (or now called the frame spanner wrench...) for the adjuster bolts.

if you have one and are near columbus then let me know please.

a local shop almost had one, but it was a 4 prong and i needed a 2 prong. and i know i can just make one with a dremel and cheap socket but unfortunately i don't have a dremel.

if i end up needing to buy this tool though i might as well just buy a dremel and socket with the price they are selling for... 79 bucks my local shop was charging me (not the one that tried to help).

i don't have one, but i used to work at home depot. just go buy the dremel, make the tool, and then take it back and say it cuts out when using it. just keep your receipt and you will have NO PROBLEM doing this. they have money built into the budget for cheap tools (many tools are made cheaper for home depot specifically) so don't feel bad about it either. it doesn't effect the company at all. i helped my friend put in a wood floor and we bought a skill saw and table saw, used it to put the floor in, and then returned that shit and got all the money back. so if you can't find one, this is an option.

ok so maybe not the best idea but i was bored and just yanked on the swingarm a few times and it budged loose.

checked the adjuster bolt and bearings all look ok, nothing damaged in the process...

now its just going to be a bitch to get back on. i think by the time i need to put it back on i will have myself a dremel and will be able to make my own tool.

yes i know this post refers to the swingarm and not the engine...

What tool do you need again? Do you have a picture of what you're trying to get out?

^ Yeah I am also curious. I took my bike completely apart down to bare frame to get it powdercoated and didn't have the need for any specialty tools. The only specialty tools I've ever needed were to rebuild the forks, and I made them from scratch.

sorry must have been from another board requiring log in.

the number 1 bolt in the top pic

i supposedly need a pivot shaft wrench (seen in the bottom picture) to loosen that up even though its only finger tight it sure as heck doesn't feel like it...

(same for swingarm just different pictures)

Ohh, that thing. I think I used the end of an 11 mm wrench, clamped into a set of vise grips, for that and the swingarm pinch bolt. Worked like a charm!
