I see your from Birdsboro, I haven't really hit the twisties around this area but back in Epharta there are some nice lil twisties back there. I've done more highway riding then anything else, but I'm much rather hit sum curves and back roads up.

+ 1 to ephrata area Plus if you're in that area on the 1st sunday of a month you will be greeted with a huge gathering of bikes that includes everything from classics, sportbikes, goldwings, etc

    From Pottstown/Reading area:

    1) 724 to 345 to 82. You can stay on 82 between Kennet Square (PA) and Centerville Rd (DE) all day until you get tired, or take 41 to 897 to 419 to 422 and come back that way.

82 is fairly tight and technical (watch out for pedal bikes and squids in the summer)

897 is just alot of long sweepers. You can go pretty quick in most spots because it's open and you have a clear field of view for a good distance ahead of you.

    2) Take 662 N to 143N (Moselem Springs) to Hawk Mountian Road. Turn Left on Hawk Mountian Road and HAVE FUN! When you get to 895 you can turn around and do it all over again, and head north on 143 again to 863. Take 863 south to 222 and head back home (toward Moselem Springs and start again if you'd like).

rts 143 and 863 are tight and technical (when you see signs for 15mph with a 90deg arrow, you can't just play fast and be OK. They're not fucking around) it's a tight two lane road, but a lot of fun.

That's my . There are a few other nice routes in the area. Most off of rt73 ( think Oysterdale and Forgedale roads heading to Martin Motorsports, if you're from the area). Other than that, I try to head out to the "country".
Think of a border with Birdsboro being the upper right, Kennett Square being the lower right, Oxford being the lower left and Lancaster/Ephrata being the upper left. That whole area in the middle is some good riding!!

I forgot to add, if you do the Hawk Mountian run, be sure to head to the Kempton Inn (off 143 and 737). Good food and beers.

I have to agree with Scott and Barr6 on 82/Creek Road. It's been a while since I've been up there, but I used to live in the Newark DE area and those roads, well, everyone loves them.

Can't say I know many more in the area, but sounds like Barr6 does.

Currently I'm in Baltimore MD and haven't found many great stretches 'local' yet. One or two short stretches, but I have a feeling I'm going to need to get back up to that area once it gets warm again.

+2 on Ephrata area! I took my bike out there after a year of driving the work van around Honeybrook / Ephrata area every week. It's a great ride, definitely recommend it to anyone. Stop and grab a drink from a natural spring!

    Frag, where are you from?

I rode briefly with a guy from Philly who just bought a grey 08, and I was on my brothers gixxer dropping it off to him. We were stuck in traffic on Ridge Pike heading into Roxborough/Manayunk this summer...never got the dude's name, but he mentioned buying a slip-on like yours.

I know, I know, Philly has like zillions of bikes, but there's a chance 'cause I mentioned this forum to the guy.
