So whats the deal with this place?

Anyone know?

Cost of living? Nice place to live? THings to do?

I have a phone interview with a company down there this week... just want to know if anyone has any thought on this town?

I have never been there... been to Charlotte a bunch and like it there. Similar?

I've been a few times and it's really nice. It's on the water and reminds me of Charleston, SC a little bit. I believe real estate is fairly expensive but cost of living isn't bad, especially compared to NY!

My sister lived in Savannah for a bit, and it was nice when I visited. Great weather, cool attractions/sights/architecture. Seemed a bit touristy though.

I was stationed in Ft. Stewart, and Savannah was the closest place to the normal world. I really liked it. You'll find some web sites claiming Savannah to be one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S. Its probably grown a lot more since. If I had to live in GA, it would probably be Savannah. Maybe thats not saying much, though. You should visit it.

I went to Savannah once...took a boat from Hilton Head. Sleepy little town. It's great if you are ready to retire. I don't recall much of a night life.

Where in Savannah did you visit that had no night life? Bay Street, River Street, Broughton, City Market, etc all have a significant amount of places to visit until the wee hours of the morning. I am not arguing it, but I have been stationed here since April of 2006 and that is the first time I have heard anyone complain that there was nothing to do at night in Savannah.
