Anyone hiring in Florida or along the coast?

I know now is not the best time to be looking for work but I was just wondering. You never know when you might luck into a better job. Or at least better weather.

Any decent paying jobs you know of?

Depends really, I for one have been fortunate enough to keep my job. The pay rates down here are a bit rediculous depending on what kind of job you are looking for and what kind of background you have, you may be able to find something decent.

And yes Florida Department of Corrections are hiring all of the time.

I could do that but what is the pay like?
I could go with being a state trooper or local law enforcement also I guess.

I might just go down there and weld on some ships.

They're hiring ship fitters down here all the time. Your best bet as far as Alabama is concered would be Austal or Northtrop Grumman. They never stop hiring and employ thousands.

^ In the boat world it's kind of a crap shoot where you'll end up but I know of aviation guys that have done clearwater/mobile rotations their entire careers...

I wonder how hard it would be to get on with customs?

I work with those guys up here alot. I need to ask around a bit.

I just figured when you got on with Customs they would put you where they wanted to.

I don't want to get on and end up in Fargo, ND or Alaska.
